Vehicle vandalism leads Mt. Laurel Police report this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

The owner of a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Prospectors Grille on Route 38 reported someone scratched their vehicle between 5 and 6:40 p.m. on March 19 causing an estimated at $600 in damage.

A resident of the 200 block of Augusta Circle reported someone broke a window on their vehicle between 6 p.m. March 19 and 8:20 a.m. March 20.

On March 19 at 3:33 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Larchmont Boulevard. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 35-year-old man from Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On March 19 at 8:46 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Rodgers Walk. During the stop officers arrested the driver a 31-year-old man from Mt. Laurel. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

On March 19 at 2:45 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a suspicious person investigation at a hotel on Route 73. During the investigation officers arrested a 53-year-old man from Mt. Laurel. The man provided a false name to officers to avoid being arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension and committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On March 21 at 3:43 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Kelly Cove in connection with a hit and run crash that occurred on Route 73. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 26-year-old woman from Mt. Laurel. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On March 22 at 1:27 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Briggs Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 48-year-old woman from Brooklawn. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On March 22 at 2:49 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ark Road near Union Mill Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 41-year-old man from Medford. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a hearing.

A resident of the 500 block of Oliphant Lane reported a wallet and several other items valued at $800 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 2 and 9 a.m. on March 22.

An employee of Sprint Wireless reported twelve lead acid batteries, valued at $1,200, were taken from a cell phone tower in the area of Briggs Road between Feb. 23 and March 23. There was no sign of forced entry to the fenced in area of the tower or to the shed that housed the batteries.

A patron of the Mt. Laurel Library reported $50 was taken from a wallet left unattended in the craft room. The incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. on March 23.

On March 26, Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 53-year-old man from Philadelphia. He was arrested as a result of an investigation into the theft of $4000 worth of jewelry from a residence on Periwinkle Drive in October of 2014. He had been working at the victim’s residence as a contractor at the time of the theft. He was served with criminal complaints at the Camden County Jail where he is presently incarcerated on unrelated charges. Bail was set at $5,000 with no 10 percent option.

On March 25 at 1 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 51-year-old man from Lumberton at police headquarters. He was arrested as a result of an investigation into a criminal mischief to a vehicle that occurred on March 19. A vehicle was intentionally scratched in the Prospector’s parking lot on Route 38 causing approximately $600 in damage. He was charged with criminal mischief and released pending a court hearing.

On March 26 at 6:30 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 35-year-old woman from Mt. Laurel. She was arrested as a result of an investigation in the theft of a cell phone, valued at $600, from a residence on Ramsbury Court on March 24. She was charged with theft and committed to the Burlington County Corrections and Work Release Center in lieu of $15,000 bail.
