Moorestown Business Association and Lenola Volunteer Fire Company host Easter Egg Hunt on April 4

The Lenola Volunteer Fire Company has been holding an Easter Egg Hunt for 75 years in its section of Moorestown. The Moorestown Business Association has been holding an Easter Egg Hunt on Main Street for 21 years. This year, the two organizations are going to co-host a combined Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at 9 a.m. sharp at Jeff Young Field, 101 North Lenola Road, in the Lenola section of Moorestown. The event will be held rain or shine.

“We wanted to be visible in the Lenola section of Moorestown,” said MBA member Don Powell, president of Powell Energy and Solar. “So we thought that it would be a good idea to combine our efforts with the Lenola Volunteer Fire Company to help them make their great event even better.”

“We’re very excited to have the Moorestown Business Association join with us to co-host this annual event” said Sheila Dietrich, chairperson of the Easter Egg Hunt for the Lenola Volunteer Fire Company. “We hope all of Moorestown will come to Jeff Young Field to take part in our combined event on the day before Easter.”

The hunt is planned for children between the ages of 0 to 12, with different sections of Jeff Young Field cordoned off for the following age groups: 0 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. All of the children will search for prizes in thousands of plastic eggs hidden in their respective sections of Jeff Young Field. There will be free crafts, provided by Perkins Center for the Arts, as well as visits from the Easter Bunny and the Easter Chick.

“Our town welcomes spring with this annual event,” said Joe Horwitz, a volunteer who has been running this event for the MBA for several years. “It’s an event that is a special treat for youngsters and their parents, which we know will be even better with these two great organizations working together.”

Besides Dietrich and Horwitz, other people assisting with the Easter Egg Hunt include: Kristen Babcock (Wing King), Jamie Boren (Moorestown Fire Prevention), Mark Morgan (Moorestown Theater Company and MBA Executive Director), and Jay Winkler (Idea Lab Digital, LLC).

Sponsors of this year’s event are Aunt Selma’s Candy, International Sports, Skating, & Fun Centre, Liberty Bell Bank, and the Moorestown Theater Company.

The MBA’s membership is comprised of nearly 300 retail, professional, and non-profit companies that work to improve the business climate in Moorestown.
