The Haddonfield American Legion Post 38 will hold its 75th Annual Last Man’s Dinner on Monday, April 6 at Tavistock Country Club. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour that will include a cash bar. The program will “kick off” promptly at 7 p.m.
Each year, the Last Man’s Club of Post 38 conducts this special event to honor our veterans who have served our country in the past as well as today’s active duty personnel. The Last Man’s Club was organized for the following purposes: to preserve the memories of our wars, to pay fitting tribute to our departed comrades, to foster and perpetuate good fellowship and to eat, drink and be merry.
The Commander of Post 38, Jon Batchelor, will emcee the proceedings which will include military honors, a special “POW/MIA White Table Remembrance Service”, the “Annual Service” honoring those members who have passed in the last year and performances by the “The Camden County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums”.
As was done last year, with the war drawing down in Afghanistan, Post 38 will honor our veterans and their families who served during the aftermath of 9/11.
Attendees will receive a copy of the “2015 Last Man’s Dinner Program” which will include information about Post 38 members who have died within the past year, the Post’s Blue Star List ads from supporters and other patriotic information. Post 38 welcomes local businesses and families to place ads in that program to help support the Last Man’s Club, Post 38, our local heroes and their families.
The ticket cost is $45 per person, which includes a prime-rib dinner and valet parking. For more information on tickets and program advertising, call or e-mail Tom Baird, Last Man’s Club Chair, at (609) 923–1442 or [email protected].
