Moorestown students make dean’s list, earn scholarships and travel abroad

Connor Burke and Michael Thomas of Moorestown were among more than 1,425 students named to The University of Scranton dean’s list, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2014 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the dean’s list. Burke is a senior economics major and Thomas is a senior operations management major in the University’s Kania School of Management.

Matthew Kaplan, a freshman majoring in exercise and sport science, from Moorestown, was among approximately 2,125 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the fall 2014 dean’s list.

Pamela Derickson has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at the University of Vermont. Derickson, from Moorestown, is a senior biochemistry major.

Clemson University has announced the president’s list for the fall 2014 semester. To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average. Moorestown students who achieved the honor include: Danielle Mary Katherine Baskin, who is majoring in psychology; Megan Elizabeth Richards, who is majoring in bioengineering; and Brooks Stevenson Foster, who is majoring in civil engineering.

Cameron Pendino of Moorestown, a member of the class of 2018 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean’s list status for the recently ended fall term 2014.

James Elder of Moorestown earned the distinction of faculty honors for fall 2014 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Steven Serpico, majoring in communication studies; Chandler Lutz, majoring in family business & entrepreneurship; Emily Davidsson, majoring in food marketing; Mary Pensiero, majoring in food marketing; and Kevin Shaloo, majoring in interdisciplinary health services, all Moorestown residents earned dean’s list honors for the fall 2014 semester at Saint Joseph’s University.

Local Moorewtown residents Nicole R. Hovatter, who is majoring in pre-business, Krista Marie Laitner, who is majoring in industrial engineering and Timothy John White, who is majoring in financial management, have been named to the Clemson University Dean’s List for the fall 2014 semester.

Sara Culbertson, Jonathan Kern, Katherine Sebastian and Nicholas Weldon from Moorestown have been named to the Wake Forest University’s dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. Students who achieve a 3.4 grade point average and no grade below a “C” were named to the list.

Sheridan Fauvell was named to the Marist College dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. Fauvell of Moorestown is a member of the class of 2015 and is majoring in fashion merchandising.

Washington College has announced its dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester, students Alexandra Liebman, Samson Ramasamy and Brooke Shultz of Moorestown made the dean’s list.

Gabrielle Townsend, a communication arts major and resident of Moorestown, was among more than 690 students from Saint Francis University who were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list.

Students from the Moorestown area have been named to the University of Delaware dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. Students include: Caroline Armstrong, Julia Bintliff, Justin Chrone, Sarah D’Antonio, Gregory Facas, Kristen Fetchko, Ellie Gluck, Christine Hill, Laura Holt, Harry Lewis, Alexander Martinelli, Connor Rieger, Lisa Ryan and Caroline Udell.

The following Lafayette College students were named to the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall 2014 semester. Rebecca Larosa of Moorestown, a graduate of Moorestown High School, and Christopher Radomski of Moorestown, a graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. Each student achieved at least a 3.60 semester grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Caroline Coriell of Moorestown a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus, located in Madison has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.

Nicholas Tamn of Moorestown, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, has been named to the honors list for the fall 2014 semester.

Thomas Muccifori of Moorestown was named to the dean’s list at the College of Engineering at Villanova University for the fall 2014 semester.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2014 dean’s list. The following local Moorestown students have achieved this honor: Nicholas Russo, Alexis Juliano, Tyler Blessing, Caitlin Burke and Jessica Molz.

The following scholars have earned merit scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall. Jessica Landow of Moorestown has earned Alvernia’s Trustees’ Scholarship. Brandy Schwechler of Moorestown High School has earned Alvernia’s Veronica Founder’s Scholarship.

Grace Yoojin Lee of Moorestown was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Lee is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.

Erin Bodine of Moorestown participated in Alternative Spring Break with Widener University through Habitat for Humanity. During their week, students participated in a range of activities from building houses for Habitat for Humanity to weatherization projects in many locations. Bodine, a nursing major, who will graduate in 2017, provided service in New Orleans.

Fairfield University has announced that the following local residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester: Vincent Renzi, Kaitlin Boyle, Marisa Randazzo and Scott Grueneberg of Moorestown.

The following students have been recognized for their academic achievement during the fall 2014 semester at Colgate University: Carey D’Avino, a English major from Moorestown and graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep School; Paige Litten, a Mathematical Economics major from Moorestown and graduate of Moorestown High School, and Clara Slight, a Neuroscience major from Moorestown and a graduate of Moorestown High School.

Chae Hee Lim of Moorestown was named to the dean’s list of Emory College of Arts and Sciences, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. for the 2014 fall semester.

Jasleen Kandhari of Moorestown was named to the honor list of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga. for the 2014 fall semester.

Charles C Bratton of Moorestown received a Master of Laws in Estate Planning and Elder Law degree from Western New England University on Feb.15, 2015.

Sydney Solomon of Moorestown was named to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2014 semester at Johns Hopkins University. Solomon is the daughter of Steven and Cynthia Solomon and attended Moorestown High School. Solomon, who is majoring in chemical and bimolecular engineering, will graduate in May 2017.

Anushi Patel, a Moorestown resident and a student at the prestigious Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,100 students who made the dean’s list in the fall 2014 semester.
