Eighth grader Sam Tichansky won the Haddonfield Middle School Geography Bee held on Jan. 16. This school-wide competition included both seventh and eighth graders. Winning this competition, allowed Sam to complete the state-qualifying written assessment, on which he scored high enough to compete in the State of New Jersey National Geographic Bee at Rowan University on Friday, March 27. One winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C. on May 11 to 13.
