Moorestown Police asks for surveillance camera registrations

This information was provided by the Moorestown Police Department:

The Moorestown Police Department is committed to the protection of our residents and business owners. Many business owners and residents currently utilize surveillance systems. As crimes occur nearby, they may not be aware that their cameras may have captured video that could help solve the crime. In turn, we are not always aware who may have this potentially vital information. Much investigative time can be wasted by our officers going door-to-door trying to track down potential video evidence.

The Police Department is asking residents and businesses to register their privately owned surveillance camera systems at “Crime Reports” utilizing the following link: www.crimereports.com/camera_registration.

The site is secure and your information is only accessible to law enforcement. Participants will be provided with a window decal to note their support of the program. As the Police Department responds to criminal incidents in our community, we may be able to use the information or footage gathered from your security cameras to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of the criminals involved. There will be no remote access of your system with this program. An officer will contact you to arrange for viewing. If you have any questions about this program, please contact us at (856) 914–3092 or detectives@moorestownpd.com .
