Suspects arrested for outstanding warrants in this week’s Mt. Laurel Police report

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On Feb. 14 at 2:15 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police stopped a suspicious person on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the encounter officers arrested a 34-year-old man from Mt. Laurel after he identified himself as another in an attempt to avoid arrest for outstanding criminal warrants. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension and turned over to another law enforcement agency for the outstanding warrants.

On Feb. 14 at 8:45 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Larchmont Boulevard. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 30-year-old man from Mt. Laurel, after he identified himself as another in an attempt to avoid arrest for outstanding warrants. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension, posted bail and was released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 13 at 5:40 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into suspicious activity at a hotel on Fellowship Road. The investigation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old woman from Camden. She was charged with engaging in prostitution and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 14 at 1 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into a vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel on Diemer Drive that had stolen license plates mounted on it. As a result of the investigation offices arrested the owner of the vehicle, a 35-year-old man from Raleigh, N.C. He was charged with receiving stolen property and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 15 at 8:50 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to Prospector’s Saloon on Route 38 for a disturbance. As a result of the investigation officers arrested a 17-year-old male from Shamong for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was released to his parents pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 16 at 7:35 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Target on Centerton Road for a shoplifting report. As a result of the investigation officers arrested a 21-year-old employee from Bellmawr. He was charged with under-ringing $414 in merchandise between Jan. 8 and Jan. 15. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 23-year-old woman a 26-year-old man, both of Willingboro, on Feb. 18 for possession of marijuana. They were stopped on the 700 block of Eastgate Drive for a motor vehicle violation at 9:18 a.m. The pair was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and released pending a municipal hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 55-year-old woman from Mt. Royal on Feb. 18, for driving while intoxicated. She was stopped on Horizon Way near Springdale Road at 12:21 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Camden on Feb. 18 for hindering his own apprehension. He was stopped on Route 73 near Rogers Walk for a motor vehicle violation at 10:59 p.m. The man then provided a false name in an effort to avoid traffic summons. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension and released on a summons.

A resident of the first block of Lower Park Road reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred between Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 12:50 p.m. Entry was gained by forcing the side window. Jewelry, valued at an undetermined amount was taken. Damage was estimated at $700.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 21-year-old woman from Mt. Laurel on Feb. 19 for hindering her own apprehension and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. While investigating a suspicious vehicle in the area of Route 73 and Lincoln Drive, the woman provided false information to police in an effort to avoid traffic summonses. Subsequent to arrest, she was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was charged with hindering and possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court hearing.

A patron of Sally’s Beauty Supply on Centerton Road reported a theft. A cell phone, valued at $200, was taken after accidentally being left on a counter inside the store. The incident occurred sometime between 7:40 and 7:45 p.m., Feb. 19.
