All support groups are led by professionals and provide the opportunity to learn about grief and to share loss-related experiences in a comfortable, private environment. Support groups are free and open to all. Donations are gratefully accepted. Pre registration is required for all groups so please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507. Expressions for Children is a special group for children and pre-adolescents ages 7 to 13 that centers on dealing with grief through creative art activities. Parents/guardians may be invited to attend certain sessions. Scheduled dates are March 2 and 18, April 6 and 15, May 4 and 20, and June 1 and 17. The group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice located at 300 Harper Drive.
Growing through Grief is an adult ongoing grief support group for those who have lost a spouse, family member or friend within the last two years. There are daytime and evening sessions available. The daytime sessions meet March 19, April 16, May 21 and June 18 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The evening sessions meet March 9, April 13, May 11 and June 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Both sessions are held at Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice located at 300 Harper Drive.
Pathways through Grief, drop-in discussion, is a monthly opportunity for adults with a loss within the past year to learn about coping with the early phase of grief, as well as build a support network with other recently bereaved individuals. Scheduled dates are March 26, April 30, May 28 and June 25. The group meets from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice located at 300 Harper Drive.
The Gay and Lesbian Grief Support Group is a grief support group for adults who have experienced a significant loss through death within the past two years. The group meets on March 16, April 20, May 18 and June 15. The meetings are from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and are held at Moorestown Visiting Nurses and Hospice located at 300 Harper Drive.
Camp Firefly is for children who have lost a parent, sibling or other special person through death. It provides a special place to make new friends, share feelings,= and find relief from grief. Camp Firefly 2015 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and 23 at Camp Matollionequay in Medford. The camp is free to children ages 7 to14. Applications are currently available.
