Shoplifting, drug possession lead Mt. Laurel Police report this week

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On Feb. 9 at 12:20 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Waverly Avenue near Church Road. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 27-year-old man from Sicklerville. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 9 at 3:15 and 5:50 p.m., a subject used counterfeit $100 bills to make purchases at two restaurants in the strip mall at 3131 Route 38. In both cases the suspect used the counterfeit money to make small purchases in order to maximize the change returned to him. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old man, about 5-feet, 9-inches tall and wearing red hooded sweatshirt.

On Feb. 9 at 4:20 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the parking lot of Centerton Square Shopping Center for the report of an intoxicated driver. Officers located the suspect near TJ Maxx and conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 32-year-old man from Philadelphia. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 10 at 1 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police stopped a suspicious person at a hotel on Clover Road. Officers arrested a 21-year-old man from Cherry Hill for an outstanding criminal warrant. He was also charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail for the outstanding warrant.

On Feb. 11 at 6:50 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to the AT&T store at 1400 Nixon Drive for a shoplifting report. Employees reported a subject stole three Samsung Gear Fit devices valued at $600. The suspect left the area prior to police arrival.

On Feb. 12 at 2:30 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the stop officers arrested the driver, a 49-year-old man from Forest, Va. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 12 at 2 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to Wegmans on Centerton Road for a shoplifting report. Officers arrested two subjects for shoplifting $420 worth of merchandise. They were identified as a 36-year-old man from Trenton and a 63-year-old man from Philadelphia. Both men were released pending a court hearing.
