Shoplifting, drug possession lead Cherry Hill Police report this week

The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Cherry Hill Police were patrolling the America’s Best Value Inn located on Route 70 West. They observed a vehicle that was occupied with male sitting in the drivers’ seat who appeared to have his head down as if he were sleeping or unconscious. Through police investigation, a man from Bridgeport, Pa. was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, a woman from Camden and a woman from Lindenwold were arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Macy’s Department store with concealed merchandise, specifically clothing, valued at $473.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Wawa located on Haddonfield Road for report of a theft. Through police investigation, a woman from Cherry Hill was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, a woman from Gloucester City was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Sephora store located inside the Cherry Hill Mall with concealed merchandise, specifically cosmetics, valued at $498.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigation Unit, on Jan. 30, a woman from Southampton was identified and charged with use of a stolen credit card. On Dec. 23, 2014, the victim’s wallet containing her driver license, credit cards and other documents was pick pocketed while she was at the Craft House and Beer Garden located on Route 70. This individual then used the victim’s credit card at a Wawa store.

On Monday, Feb. 2, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 at Church Road for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from West Deptford was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, giving false information to law enforcement and other related charges.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigation Unit, on Feb. 3, a woman from West Collingswood was identified and charged with credit card theft. On Jan. 29, a resident at the Cadbury Retirement Center reported her wallet that contained credit cards was stolen from her purse. These credit cards were later used in another jurisdiction by this individual.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, two women from Reading, Pa. were arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Sephora store located inside the Cherry Hill Mall with concealed merchandise valued at $1467.59.

On Thursday, Feb. 5, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 400 Block of Woodland Avenue for report of a burglary. Unknown actors entered a home that is under construction and removed copper wiring. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. yesterday and 7 a.m. on Feb. 5.

On Friday, Feb. 6, Cherry Hill Police responded to Stellar Textiles located on Route 70 West for report of an attempted burglary. Pry marks were observed on the rear door, however no entry was gained into the business. This incident occurred between Feb. 3 and Feb. 5.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigation Unit, on Feb. 6, a woman from Beverly was identified and charged with theft of movable property. On Jan. 26, she concealed merchandise from the Kohl’s store. After being confronted by Kohl’s loss prevention, she exited the store with the merchandise and fled in a vehicle.

On Friday, Feb. 6, a woman from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Macy’s Department store with concealed merchandise, specifically purses, valued at $932. Another woman from Philadelphia was also arrested and charged with shoplifting and other charges after she fled the store prior to police arrival. She was located in the mall parking lot by police and identified by Macy’s security as being with the woman charged with shoplifting.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 70 and Maine Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from Oaklyn was arrested and charged with displaying false government document, specifically a fictitious Pennsylvania registration tag.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 and Longwood Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Maple Shade was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, a man from Woodbury Heights was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Wegmans store with merchandise valued at $438.94.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, a woman from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Apple store located inside the Cherry Hill Mall with merchandise valued at $1907.95. Through police investigation, she was additionally charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Feb. 5, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 70 at Cornell Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from New York was arrested and charged with displaying a false government document, specifically a fictitious Pennsylvania temporary registration tag, and other charges.

Through investigation by the Cherry Hill Police officers and the Investigative Unit on Feb. 8, a man from Trenton was arrested and charged with burglary to vehicle and other related charges. The male confessed that he entered an unlocked vehicle and removed items on Feb. 7 at the Garden State Market Place.

On Sunday, Feb. 8, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 700 Block of Northwood Avenue for report of a theft. Homeowner reported several pieces of jewelry missing from the residence after she hired a new babysitter. Through police investigation, a woman from Cherry Hill confessed and was subsequently arrested and charged with theft of movable property.

On Monday, Feb. 9, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at Cuthbert Boulevard and Hampton Road on a suspicious vehicle that was observed at the Walmart store. Through police investigation, a man from Maple Shade was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription and other related charges. A woman from Cherry Hill was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and other related charges.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on South Kings Highway near the Connector Road for a traffic violation. Through investigation by police, a woman from Cherry Hill was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription, destruction of evidence and other related charges.
