Footprints in snow lead Evesham Police to man suspected of breaking into cars

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Feb. 2, at 1:36 a.m., the Evesham Police Department responded to the unit block of Topeka Court for a subject breaking into cars. Patrol units quickly arrived in the area and established a perimeter.

Officers searching the neighborhood on foot located shoe prints in the fresh snow. The prints led officers right to the suspect who was hiding in a car a few blocks away on North Locust Avenue. The suspect, a Williamstown man, was found in possession of stolen proceeds from nine vehicle burglaries, heroin, cocaine, and a hypodermic needle. All property seized was returned to the owners.

A man, age 26, of Williamstown, was charged with nine counts of third degree burglary, third degree possession of Heroin, third degree possession of cocaine, and a disorderly persons offense for possession of a hypodermic needle. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $100,000 bail.
