Multiple burglaries reported by Cherry Hill Police last week

The following information was provided by the Cherry Hill Police Department.

On Friday, Jan. 23, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Kohl’s store for report of a theft that had just occurred and the woman, from Southampton left in a vehicle with concealed merchandise, specifically clothing valued at $539. Responding police units located the vehicle after it was reported to be involved in a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Kings Highway near Route 70. Through police investigation, all the proceeds were located inside the vehicle and in the female’s possession. The woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting, possession of cocaine, conspiracy, obstruction and other related offenses.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 at Hillview Drive for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Glendora was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of narcotic pills without a prescription and other related charges.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 1900 Block of Country Club Dive for report of an attempted burglary. Unknown actors pried open a rear window, however was unsuccessful in gaining entry. The Homeowner heard strange noises in the evening prior around 8:45 to 9 p.m. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, a woman from Nutley was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave Macy’s Department store without paying for concealed merchandise valued at $1229.97.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 at Third Avenue for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Camden was arrested and charged with displaying a false insurance card.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Cherry Hill Police responded to the AT&T substation located on the 700 Block of Cuthbert Boulevard for an alarm activation. While police were on location, they located the fenced in area unsecured. It was determined that unknown actors entered the fenced in area and approximately 45 feet of copper, which was coated in green plastic, was taken. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at the McDonald’s located on Route 38 for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a woman from Browns Mills and man from Shamong were arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

On Sunday, Jan. 25, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 600 Block of Burnt Mill Road for report of a burglary. Unknown actors forced open a rear kitchen window sometime between Jan. 24 and Jan. 25. Proceeds were jewelry, a checkbook and drivers license. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Monday, Jan. 26, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Dollar Tree located on Route 38 for report of a burglary. Unknown actors pried open a rear door to the business sometime between 9 p.m. on Jan. 25 and today at 5 a.m. At this time, it is unknown if any proceeds were taken. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, a man from Camden was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave Walmart without paying for merchandise, specifically a HP computer, valued at $399.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, a woman from Camden was charged with theft by failing to make proper disposition of property after not returning a rental vehicle on Dec. 17, 2014 to Payless Car Rental located on Route 70.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 200 Block of Ashland Avenue for report of an alarm activation. While police were checking the exterior, it was observed that unknown actor kicked open a rear door. Due to the alarm activation, it appears that the actor did not enter the residence. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 100 Block of Columbia Boulevard for report of a burglary. Unknown actors gained entry into a closed and locked garage sometime between midnight and 8:15 a.m. on this date. Proceeds were a Harvard Freight air compressor, a Husqvarna backpack blower and a Yard Machine snow blower. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Wednesday, Jan. 28, Cherry Hill Police responded to the 300 block of Philmar Avenue for report of a burglary. Unknown actors smashed the glass pane on a side door and then reached in and unlocked the door sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Proceeds were a jewelry box that contained jewelry and money. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.

On Monday, Jan. 26, a Cherry Hill police officer was patrolling the Feathers Nest Inn located on Hampton Road. The officer located an unoccupied vehicle that was reported stolen out of Philadelphia. Through investigation by police, two women from Philadelphia were charged with receiving stolen property. One of the women was also charged with possession of narcotic pills without a prescription.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, Cherry Hill Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 and Chestnut Street for a traffic violation. Through police investigation, a man from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of narcotic pills without a prescription, possession of prohibited weapons, specifically a switch blade, displaying a false government document, specifically a fictitious Delaware temporary registration, and other related charges. A woman from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of narcotic pills without a prescription and other related charges.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, a woman from Turnersville was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to leave the Sephora store located inside the Cherry Hill Mall without paying for concealed merchandise, specifically cosmetics, valued at $440.95.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, Cherry Hill Police responded to the Cherry Hill Mall for report of a shoplifter that had just fled the Sephora store with concealed merchandise, specifically perfume valued at $136. Responding patrol officers located a woman from Philadelphia in the parking lot of the mall. Through investigation, the woman was arrested and charged with possession of a stun gun, obstruction and other related charges.

On Saturday, Jan. 30, Cherry Hill Police responded to Aldo Shoes located inside the Cherry Hill Mall for report of a fraud incident. A male actor attempted to purchase merchandise using a fraudulent credit card. The store clerk observed the last four digits imprinted on the credit card did not match the last four digits of the account printed on the receipt. The male had left the store while the clerk was contacting the credit card company. Through police investigation, a man from Camden was identified and charged with fraudulent use of a stolen credit card.

On Friday, Jan. 30, Cherry Hill Police responded to the unit block of Anders Drive for report of a burglary in progress. Homeowner arrived home and observed an unknown male on the second floor of the residence. The homeowner immediately exited the residence and contacted police. The interior of the residence was checked by police with negative results. A K-9 track indicated the male actor fled on foot to Green Acre Drive where a vehicle was possibly parked. Actor attempted to gain entry to a rear window, however was unsuccessful. He then gained entry into the residence by prying open a rear door sometime between 2 and 2:40 p.m. on this date. Nothing was observed missing at this time. This incident is under investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Investigative Unit.
