Haddonfield Uncorked is Saturday, Feb. 7

Enjoy the perfect pairing — wonderful wines and unique Valentine’s Day gift ideas and special offers — during Downtown Haddonfield’s first ever Haddonfield Uncorked event taking place Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Haddonfield Uncorked is an opportunity to sample and purchase New Jersey wines while browsing the downtown shops, which will also be offering in-store specials and discounts, just in time for Valentine’s Day. So whether you seek traditional gifts like wine, chocolates and flowers; a romantic spot for dinner and wine for two; or unique gifts that are a little less traditional, it can all be found in Downtown Haddonfield during Haddonfield Uncorked.

Participating merchants along Kings Highway and our charming side streets — which include Mechanic, Ellis and Tanner Streets, Haddy Lane, Kings Court and Haddon Avenue — invite you to enjoy this sip and sample shopping opportunity in the Downtown.

Haddonfield is a “dry” town by law; however, thanks to a recently approved Alcohol Management Plan for Retail Outlets prepared by the Garden State Wine Growers Association, shop owners in Haddonfield can now lease a portion of their business to one of the area’s local wine growers for the sale of Jersey-grown wines by the bottle to the business’s patrons.

“This agreement and event allows our shops and restaurants to expand their clientele while bolstering New Jersey’s economy and agriculture by broadening the avenues by which New Jersey-grown wines can be sampled, marketed and sold. It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved,” said Susan Hodges, chairperson for the Partnership for Haddonfield.

Below is a list of store and winery pairings — where representatives from the New Jersey winery listed will be offering tastings of their wine and selling wine by the bottle:

Haddon Avenue: Jersey Java & Tea / Auburn Road Vineyards

Kings Court: Rhinoceros / Tomasello Winery

Kings Highway East: The Little Tuna & Market / Amalthea Cellars; Evearts Gallery / Auburn Road Vineyards; SIX on East / Bellview Winery; maxwelljames / Coda Rossa Winery; Saxbys Coffee / Chestnut Run Farm & Winery; Serendipity / Monroeville Winery; JAX Boutique / Summit City Winery; The Paper Trail / Wagonhouse Winery; Girlfriends Boutique / Natali Vineyards; Zaffron Mediterranean Cuisine /Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery; and Painting With A Twist / DiMatteo Winery

Mechanic Street: In The Kitchen / Sharrott Winery

Tanner Street: Mia Mare / Coda Rossa Winery

“The best way to sell wine is by tasting and what better way than to do so while shopping and supporting local businesses? The Haddonfield Uncorked event is a win-win for both the local business and wineries,” said Jake Buganski, executive director at South Jersey Tourism Corporation. “The new Alcohol Management Plan for Retail Outlets and wine friendly events taking place throughout New Jersey is incredible. Having local wines available to pair with culinary experiences at some of South Jersey’s fine restaurants, and at other local businesses that complement the wineries’ offerings, creates an engaging environment that keeps people moving throughout the region.”

Camden County Economic Development (CCED) is a partner of this event.

“We are excited to be a partner with Downtown Haddonfield for this new town-wide event,” said CCED liaison Louis Cappelli, Jr., Camden County Freeholder Director. “This is the perfect opportunity to buy a Valentine’s Day gift for someone you love or enjoy a romantic dinner at one of Haddonfield’s many restaurants — all while supporting the CCED’s Shop Camden County Program — which promotes shopping at local businesses and boosting the surrounding communities economy as a whole.”
