On Campus: Marlton students’ accomplishments at university

Lebanon Valley College has announced its Dean’s List recipients for the fall 2014 semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Of the 699 students who made the list, local honorees include:

Caitlin Manahan of Marlton, a graduate of Cherokee High School pursuing a bachelor of science in actuarial science.

Alyssa Cirucci of Marlton, a graduate of Bishop Eustace Prep School pursuing a bachelor of science in psychobiology.

Alvernia University student Kristin Svitak of Marlton, is spending winter break working to help others in the Dominican Republic, through an Alvernia University Alternative Break program. Svitak is an Early Childhood Education major at the university.

During the fall semester, Alvernia students participating in winter alternative break trips learned about the social justice issues they will likely experience this winter. These students are working to better understand the causes and effects of poverty, and to make a difference in society, as they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pa., Reading, Pa., and the Dominican Republic.

Stevenson University offers congratulations to Austin Meyers of Marlton, a member of the Stevenson University 2014 Football team. Under Ed Hottle, the first head coach in program history, the team finished the season 8–3, the best record yet in the four-year football program history.

Entering the post-season for the first time in program history, the team won the ECAC Southeast Bowl Championship which was played at Mustang Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014. The team posted a 29–7 victory as the defense forced seven punts and three turnovers.
