Man arrested after Mt. Laurel Police find drugs, weapons in vehicle

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

On Nov. 9 at 2:55 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near the New Jersey Turnpike. During the stop the driver, a 45-year-old man from Cherry Hill was arrested, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a summons. Based upon information gathered during the traffic stop, the man’s vehicle was seized so that a search warrant could be obtained. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of heroine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, PCP, Percocet pills, a stun gun, pepper spray, and a blackjack club. An arrest warrant for the man was obtained charging him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of prohibited weapons, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person’s not to possess a weapon. Bail was set at $60,000 with no ten percent option. On Dec. 5 at approximately 1:30 p.m., the man was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshalls in Philadelphia. He was committed to Federal Justice Center for parole violations.

A resident of the 500 block of Willow Turn reported their residence was burglarized on Dec. 5 between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Entry was gained by cutting a rear screen and entering an unlocked window. Nothing was reported taken. Damage is estimated at $25.

On Dec. 6 at 12:42 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the report of a vehicle that stuck the guardrail in the area of the 1100 block of Route 73. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver, a 40-year-old man from Mt. Holly. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Dec. 6 at 2:15 a.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the 100 block of Carlton Lane for a disturbance. During the investigation a 27-year-old man of Maple Shade was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court hearing.

A member of LA Fitness on Dearborn Circle reported someone broke a window on her vehicle and stole her purse and its contents, valued at approximately $500 on Dec. 6 between 7:15 and 7:55 a.m. Damage is estimated at $200.

On Dec. 6 at 2:25 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Wegmans on Centerton Road for a shoplifting. Officers arrested and charged a 31-year-old woman from Trenton for shoplifting $398 in baby formula and other merchandise. She was also charged with shoplifting of $530 in baby formula from Wegmans on Dec. 5. Bail was set at $5,000 for the shoplifting in addition to $4,500 for warrants out of other jurisdictions. She was committed to the Burlington County Work Release Center.

A resident of the 2300 block of Denham Court reported someone stole a license plate off of their vehicle on Dec. 6 between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Dec. 9 at 12:16 p.m., Mt. Laurel Police were dispatched to the Bank of America Plaza on Route 38 for a disturbance in the parking lot. During the investigation officers arrested a 27-year-old Mt. Laurel man for criminal warrants out of Hainesport. Subsequent to arrest he was found in possession of marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and committed to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.

An employee of Wegmans on Centerton Road reported an unknown male shoplifted $368 worth of merchandise from the store on Dec. 9 at 2:29 p.m.

A patron of Target on Centerton Road reported her wallet containing, cash and credit cards valued at over $400, was taken from her unzipped purse on Dec. 9 at approximately 3:15 p.m. The victim reported that she was distracted by a female suspect while two accomplices stole her wallet.

Mt. Laurel Police received three complaints of counterfeit $10 and $20 bills being used at local eating establishments between Dec. 2 and Dec. 9.

A guest of a hotel on Crawford Place reported approximately $52 worth of toys were taken from the trunk of his unlocked vehicle between Dec. 3 and Dec. 11.

A resident of the 900 block of South Larkspur Place reported their residence was burglarized on Dec. 11 between 6:25 and 8:30 p.m. Entry was gained by forcing a rear window open causing approximately $100 in damage. Jewelry, valued at $7,000, was taken.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 28-year-old woman from Westampton on Dec. 12 at 12:24 a.m. during a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near the New Jersey Turnpike. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

An employee of Mt. Laurel Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare on Church Road reported the theft of $189 from an office inside the business between Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. There was no sign of forced entry to the building or office.

A patron of the ShopRite on Union Mill Road reported that she inadvertently left her purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot on Dec. 12 between 12:30 and 1 p.m. When she returned a short time later the purse was gone.
