The body of Susan D. Johnson, age 59, was located by police in a wooded area near the 5000 block of Commonwealth Drive in Evesham Township.

Investigators believe Johnson was fatally beaten sometime Dec. 5 in her home on the first block of Skyline Drive in Gloucester Township and transported to the location where her body was found.

Gloucester Township Police had gone to Johnson’s home Thursday for a well-being check after she was reported missing. Officers found signs of a struggle inside the residence.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed information on two persons of interest — one man and one woman. Both have been detained and are being questioned by investigators.

One person of interest led police to the location of Johnson’s body this morning.

The investigation is ongoing and charges have yet to be filed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Detective John Hunsinger at (856) 365–3239 or Gloucester Township Police Detective Michael McDonnell at (856) 228–4500.
