Cherry Hill to receive award for cherry blossoms

The world-renowned Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will be giving a “Garden of Distinction” award to Chapel Avenue’s blossoming cherry trees in Cherry Hill. The award will be presented at the society’s 2014 Gardening and Greening Contest.

Joseph Zanghi helps to plant new trees along Chapel Avenue each spring. He said it’s a great honor for Cherry Hill. Photographs of Chapel Avenue’s cherry blossoms lined street will appear at a future Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s reception recognizing winners of their contest. Some winning entry photos may appear on the society’s website.

PHS has also invited Zanghi to attend an award recognition luncheon in honor of the winners. The luncheon will be held in Harrisburg, Penn. at the Governor’s residence on Dec. 8. Zanghi will receive a Greening Award recognition poster that can be displayed publicly in Cherry Hill.
