Kepple’s Carpet, with locations in Marlton and West Berlin, will be hosting acclaimed singer and songwriter Laura Reed live on Nov. 22.

The South African born dynamo has earned global accolades for her thought provoking lyrics and captivating, emotive stage presence. The show is being presented by Marlton resident Doug Kepple as a “free customer and community appreciation” event. The event will be held at the main stage at The Record Museum at the store’s West Berlin location, 110 Cushman Ave.

Reed’s recently released debut album entitled “The Awakening” has been hailed as a reinvigorating turn for the charismatic artist. Produced by two-time Grammy award winner Shannon Sanders (India.Arie, Robert Randolph, John Legend), the album has notched rave reviews, as well as carving a new musical path for the acclaimed vocalist. Encouraged to make the move to Nashville by mentor, former music executive and Grammy award winning producer, Paul Worley (Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Dixie Chicks), Reed tabled her funk/reggae-informed roots (via her band Deep Pocket) and created an R&B-tinged vocal tour de force that embroiders the raw, seductive power of her voice with a soulfully-framed new signature sound — lucent and sultry — as on flavorful offerings like “Naturally,” and the Motown-influenced first single “Wake Up,” among others.
