Robert Edwin featured soloist at Wiley Church Fall Concert on Nov. 1

Robert Edwin will be the featured soloist in a fall concert held at the Wiley Church, 99 East Main St, on Nov. 1, Saturday, 7 p.m. No tickets are required for the concert which is sponsored by the Wiley Home Auxiliary, but a free will offering will be received in support of the auxiliary.

Robert Edwin has gained international recognition as a singer, song writer, teacher and author. He has sung Bach cantatas in church cathedrals and rock songs in coffee houses. Touring extensively throughout United States and abroad, he has performed in New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall. His TV and radio credits include several NBC Christmas Specials and he has produced a number of CD’s with his original songs. A lyricist and composer since 1967, Edwin has written a wide variety of published music. He was a leader in the 1960s “Church Music Reformation” when his albums, “Keep the Rumor Going” and “With Joy” became reviving factors in the life of the modern church.

His diverse performing career is matched by an equally diverse teaching career. He has an independent studio in Cinnaminson where classical singers interact with rock and pop vocalists, child singers and pageant contestants. He has produced a DVD on child voice training entitled, “The Kid and the Singing Teacher.”

Mr. Edwin has served as an adjunct voice teacher at the New Jersey School of Art, the Burlington County College and continues to serve on the applied music staff at the Camden County College. In addition he is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Teachers of Singing and has led master classes and workshops in the United States, Canada and Australia.

During the concert, Mr. Edwin will be accompanied on the piano by Joseph Krupa who holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Calgary and a B.S. from Rutgers University. Mr. Krupa is organist and pianist for the First Presbyterian Church of Salem, and has served as music director for the Cherry Hill Summer Theater program. He has been a private piano instructor and voice coach for over fifteen years.
