The Ripa Center for Women Health and Wellness will recognize Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day, Oct. 15, with a variety of free events to create awareness for the early detection and breast cancer survivorship.
Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day occurs annually in October and is an initiative designed to promote education, awareness and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. The third annual BRA Day will take place on Oct. 15.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15 some of the events include: Mammograms from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (appointment and script from physician needed); Bra Crafting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Bra Fittings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Breast Reduction Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m.
For the Bra Crafting, all are welcome to support those who have been touched by breast cancer by decorating bras to be displayed in the Healing Garden on the Cooper Voorhees campus. Bras and craft supplies are provided. No appointments are needed and drop-ins welcome.
The complimentary Bra Fittings offered by Posh Lingerie and Bra Boutique of Cherry Hill. No appointments are necessary.
The Breast Reconstruction Lunch and Learn will provide women information about breast reconstruction options following cancer surgery. Free box lunches will be provided and registration is required. Call (856) 342–2380 to register.

BRA Day USA is a collaborative effort between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, plastic surgeons, breast centers, nurse navigators, corporate sponsors and breast cancer support groups.
