Moorestown Tree Planting and Preservation Committee will plant trees on Sept. 19

The NJ Tree Foundation, Moorestown Tree Planting and Preservation Committee and volunteers will be joined by employees from IKEA and American Forests on Friday, Sept. 19 at Moorestown High School fields in a cooperative effort to plant new trees in local communities. To volunteer, come out to the intersection of Bridgeboro & Westfield Roads. Tree Planting begins at 9 a.m. and will run until approximately noon. Volunteers will dig holes, plant trees and lay mulch. No planting experience is required. Tools, gloves and water will be provided. Sign up to volunteer at moorestowntrees@gmail.com. Please let us know if you can join in this fun and worthwhile experience!

Moorestown was selected from ten applicants by the NJ Tree Foundation and IKEA to receive ten large trees. The 2-to-2–1/2-inches caliper trees, 10 to 12 foot tall, are to be planted by volunteers. The trees will provide a beautiful tree lined vista at one of the gateways to our community.
