The two Cherry Hill high schools opened up the field hockey season with a grueling match at Cherry Hill East on Thursday afternoon. The game was scoreless until the final few minutes when the Cougars broke out with a pair of goals from Charlotte Montgomery and Dani Dunoff. Cherry Hill East hung on for the 2–0 win. The last two season, the two teams played to a tie.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday. Cherry Hill East will host Cherokee, while Cherry Hill West will play their home opener against Washington Twp.
