Volunteers needed for voter registration drives at Burlington County College

The Alice Paul Institute and the League of Women Voters of Burlington County need Burlington County College student volunteers for voter registration drives on the college’s Mt. Laurel and Pemberton campuses this fall.

Training sessions will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. in Laurel Hall, room 310, on the Mt. Laurel campus.

The sessions includes a brief history of voting in the United States; information about the candidates in New Jersey’s current Senate, House, and Freeholder elections, and a discussion of voting logistics such as registration and changing home address. They also include a brief video, a Prezi presentation, and handouts.

Trained student volunteers will visit classrooms by appointment during September and October.

For information about the student voter registration drive, contact Kris Myers, director of programs at the Alice Paul Institute, at kmyers@alicepaul.org or (856) 231–1885.
