Congregation Beth Tikvah (CBT) invites Jewish children younger than kindergarten age to “Storytime,” a FREE program in the CBT library where youngsters hear a story and create a craft. This past year, children traveled with Sammy the Spider to Israel during Yom Ha’atzmaut, and went home with creative Israeli Flags. They helped Uncle Morty the Magician hide the Passover afikomen and then decorated matzah covers. They also learned about Jewish baby naming ceremonies and made Hebrew name signs for their bedrooms. This program not only connects the children with reading and introduces them to a variety of Jewish topics, but also provides an opportunity for young families to checkout our synagogue and our awesome new Hebrew School Program called Tikvah Learning Community.
This year’s first Storytime begins on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. — 12:15 p.m. in the library at Congregation Beth Tikvah, 115 Evesboro-Medford Road. Come out and join us for the learning, the creativity and the sheer fun of it. Future dates for Storytime this year are Oct.12 (apple picking with TLC), Nov. 16, December 7 (story and a craft at Barnes and Noble), Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 29, and April 19.
