There have been several reports on social media regarding a white cargo van with NY license plates traveling through the Shamong Township community.
The New Jersey State Police Red Lion Barracks would like residents to contact them if they feel as though a suspicious vehicle is in their respective communities.
Please note the time, date, description of vehicle and occupants if possible, license plate number and location of the vehicle. The NJSP can be contacted by dialing 911 or (609) 859–2282 for non-urgent matters.
Please remember, although the posts on social media are very beneficial to get the word out to the community, the NJ State Police do not monitor social media posts. Direct calls to the Red Lion Barracks however will prompt an immediate response to the resident’s concerns.
The township would like to remind residents to lock all doors and windows prior to leaving their homes. Also, if you will be out of town, ask a neighbor to keep an eye on your house.
