While your recent editorial emphasized the importance of local elections and voting in general, it failed to inform on the significance of this year’s Senatorial races. Both Democrats and Republicans have much to lose or gain as whoever wins the Senate will determine the course of our political future. Not only are Republicans poised to capture the Senate, their success could both strike a note of disapproval with current policies and set the tone for the next presidential election.
This election may be even more vital then usual as President Obama has pressed his executive authority to the point some suggest even our Constitutional assurances are in question.
No doubt and for good reason, many New Jersey voters assume both Democrat Senators will hold their seats. Still, others who are concerned about government overreach and incompetence should make a show of their concerns by voting.
