New professional leadership institute to debut at Paulsdale on Aug. 11

Some 30 high school girls will gather at Paulsdale, the Mt. Laurel birthplace of Quaker suffragist Alice Paul to participate in the Alice Paul Institute’s newest program, The Alice Paul Professional Leadership Institute takes place from Monday, Aug. 11 through Friday, Aug. 15.

“APPLI is a great opportunity for girls to get early professional development advice that will guide them in their academic years and provide a clear guide to future careers,” said Kris Myers, the Alice Paul Institute’s director of programs. “The girls will meet more than 35 women who will serve as mentors during and after the program.”

On Thursday, Aug. 14, 25 mentors, women from a variety of fields, will work with the girls in a practice networking session.

On Friday, Aug. 15, APPLI’s final day, the girls will travel to Trenton, where they will tour the State House and have lunch with State Senator Diane Allen.
