Marlton resident serving as Immediate Past President of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials

Lumberton Township Board of Education Business Administrator (BA)/Board Secretary and Marlton resident Thomas J. Fanuka, is serving as Immediate Past President of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) during the 2014–2015 school year.

Fanuka, who served as President of NJASBO during the 2013–2014 school year, has been the BA for the Lumberton Township Board of Education for more than 20 years. A Registered School Business Administrator (RSBA), he was the 2005–2006 NJASBO School Business Administrator of the Year.

Prior to joining Lumberton, Fanuka worked in two Pennsylvania public school districts as a data operations specialist and programmer, and as the assistant business administrator/director of financial services, for more than seven years.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drexel University, Fanuka earned a master’s degree in school business administration from Rowan University.

Fanuka and his wife, Lisa, have a daughter who attends Rutgers University.

The New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) is a professional association that promotes the highest standards of ethics and efficiency, provides its membership with professional development and support, and collaborates with entities that affect public education. The organization comprises professionals who administer or supervise a variety of operations within the school district such as accounting, budgeting, data processing, environmental issues, food service management, maintenance, negotiations, payroll, purchasing and transportation.
