Numerous thefts from businesses top Mt. Laurel Police report

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

An employee of Jacob’s Engineering on Fellowship Road reported a theft. Several electronic items, valued at over $600, were taken from an office inside the business. The incidents occurred between 10 a.m., June 20, and 10:30 a.m., July 14. There was no sign of forced entry to the building or office.

An employee of JL Landscaping reported a theft from an unlocked storage trailer while it was parked at a business on Briggs Road. The incident occurred between 6 p.m., June 21, and 6 a.m., June 26. A line trimmer, valued at $300, was taken. Entry was gained by breaking a window. Damage is estimated at $200.

Several members of Planet Fitness on Route 38 reported thefts. Wallets and contents, including credit cards and cash, as well as other miscellaneous items, valued at approximately $470, were taken from locked lockers in a locker room. All locks were forcibly removed from the lockers. The incidents occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., July 15.

Two members of LA Fitness on Dearborn Circle reported thefts. Wallets and contents, including credit cards and cash, as well as other miscellaneous items, valued at approximately $350, were taken from locked lockers in a locker room. The locks were forcibly removed from the lockers. The incidents occurred between 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. July 15.

An employee of Bob Evans restaurant on Fellowship Road reported an attempt to pass counterfeit money. The incident occurred on July 15 at approximately 7 p.m. A white female in her early 30s attempted to purchase merchandise valued at $8.56 with a counterfeit $50 bill. While the bill was being examined, the suspect ran from the restaurant and fled the scene in a silver vehicle prior to police arrival.

An employee of Encor Electric in Bellmawr reported a theft. Three spools of aluminum wire, valued at $5,000, were taken from an unlocked trailer at a construction site on the unit block of Courtney Way. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. June 3 and 6 a.m., June 5.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested an 18-year-old male of the 400 block of East Main Street, Moorestown, on July 16 for possession of marijuana. He was stopped on Route 38 in the area of Briggs Road for a motor vehicle violation at 10:30 p.m. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

A resident of the 4400 block of Fenwick Lane reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred between 5 a.m. July 15 and 6:46 p.m. July 16. An unknown amount of jewelry was taken. It was not immediately evident how entry was gained to the residence.

An employee of Masonville News, located on the 200 block of Masonville Road, reported a criminal mischief to the business. The incident occurred between 8:30 p.m., July 16, and 6 a.m., July 17. The storefront window was broken. Damage is estimated at $1000.

An employee of JoAnn Fabric, located on Centerton Road, reported a theft. A sewing machine, valued at $300, was taken from the business. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. July 16 and 9 a.m. July 17.
