Lenape students bring home awards at High School Film Extravaganza

Lenape High School students won two awards at the first annual High School Film Extravaganza on Thursday, June 26, at The Noyes Art Garage in Atlantic City.

Melissa Cheeseman, Ruth Demree and Tyler Murphy won the music Vcdeo award for their interpretation of Avril Lavigne’s “Skater Boi”, which was a class project in Communications Technology II this past year.

Lauren Muccili’s documentary “Nine Out of Ten”, produced this past year in Communications Technology III, won the experimental film category. The film documented the importance and meaning of Lenape’s GSA club.

The media programs provide students with hands on 21st century learning skills. The students learn all aspects of production including script writing for various audiences, video and audio editing, and live multi-camera news production. The media students and staff work closely together and develop technical and production skills. Students recognize the skill, dedication, and team effort behind filmmaking and production and graduate with an appreciation for the career field.
