Food truck fundraiser held for Mt. Laurel’s Durand Foundation

FoodFundraiser

On Friday, June 6, the Flying W Airport in Medford, was filled with vehicles of the non-flying variety when a number of gourmet food trucks served savory and sweet food alfresco ranging from surf and turf to pierogies, from potato chip panko encrusted mac and cheese, to salads and cupcakes. Included was the Rockin’ Road Grill food truck from Eddie Berner, native South Jersey resident, chef and former lead guitarist of the 1980’s band, A Flock of Seagulls, who also performed that evening. Grilling cheesesteaks with Eddie Berner was Chef Terry French, the “Rebel Chef” and 2012 winner of Food Network’s World Extreme Chef.

A DJ and dancing completed the festivities at The Durand Foundation’s first annual Gourmet on the Runway Food Truck Fete fundraiser as a benefit for non-profit Durand, a multi-service agency headquartered in Mt. Laurel, which serves special needs children and adults throughout Southern New Jersey. Durand comprises of a kindergarten through 12th grade school in Woodbury, an adult services training center in Mt. Laurel, an adult training thrift shop and center in Woodbury, group homes for adults in Marlton, Cherry Hill, Willingboro and Delran, as well as workshops and respite provided to more than 250 families in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties. The Durand Foundation helps raise essential funds to support the work of Durand. For more information visit www.durandfoundation.org and www.durandac.org.
