Independence Day Celebration 2014 “Haddon Fire Co. #1: Celebrating 250 years of Continuous Service” is this year’s theme!!

  • Fireworks will be held on Thursday, July 3 on the high school field, 401 Kings Highway, East, between Sylvan Lake Avenue and Hopkins Lane. Only street parking is available.
  • Gates open at 7 p.m. No charge for admission. Donations gladly accepted at the gates. They can also be sent to PO Box 15, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 or by credit card at the Information Center, 2 Kings Court or with Paypal using the link on our website www.haddonfield-celebrations.org
  • Fireworks display will begin at dusk (approximately 9:30 p.m.).
  • Big change this year: Due to the installation of the turf field, blankets only will be allowed on the field!!! Positively no chairs.
  • Raindate for fireworks is Sunday, July 6, 2014. This is a CHANGE from the TOWN CALENDAR
  • Evening program is the same.

Entertainment by the Shore Thing begins at 7:30 pm.

Refreshments will be available at the Lions Club tent in the end zone. Hot dogs, pretzels and cold drinks will be sold. Water ice, ice cream and kettle corn will also be available for sale by area dealers.

There will be no outside vendors on the school grounds.

Smoking and pets are prohibited on all school property.

  • Parade will be held on Friday, July 4. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Kings Highway at Chestnut Street.

Registration on Friday, July 4 is available 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Assembly information can be obtained at the Registration table at the rear of the Presbyterian Church driveway, 20 Kings Highway, East.

Participation ribbons for all children participating in the parade will be given out during registration and/or lineup. This includes Baby Parade, Dress-Up Parade and all bikes, trikes, big wheels and in-line skaters. Ribbons are also given to all children in groups being judged.

The Pick-Up Band will assemble behind the Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m.

Antique Autos Entrants need to report to Antique Auto Registration table after 10 a.m. Further information can be obtained from Frank Houston at 856–428–2702.

Parade winners will be announced and winner ribbons awarded at the high school immediately following the parade.

Free cold drinks will be available at the high school courtesy of the Lions Club. Hot dogs and pretzels will be available for purchase.

  • No raindate for the parade.

In the event we must postpone/cancel either of our events, we give as much time as possible before we have to make the decision. We don’t like to disappoint our public!

If we can be of any further help, please let us know. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. only, please. Do not these numbers at fireworks or parade times. We will be at the high school or on Kings Highway.

• Helmets must be worn by children riding bikes/trikes and big wheels.

• Children may not use motorized or battery-operated vehicles unless accompanied by a parent/adult.

• Throwing candy or other items is restricted! Please pass out items by hand!
