In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, fifth grade students at Joyce Kilmer Elementary School will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Friday, May 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The rain date will be Wednesday, May 28.
This will be the eighth annual lemonade stand for the students, who have raised more than $23,000 in past years. The purpose for the event is to show students that they can make a difference world at any age. All classes will be participating in a pre-event activity and coming to the stand to make donations. Along with lemonade, soft pretzels will also available.

New this year, the school will also be incorporating a hair donation event to benefit the Children With Hair Loss Foundation.
