Haddonfield Town Criers Looking for New Members

The award-winning town criers of the Indian King Tavern are looking for a few good men, women or children.

As requests for town criers to take part in local events increase, we find ourselves in need of additional criers.

The duties of these volunteer criers are to publicize activities, taking place at the Indian King Tavern. This is usually done on Friday evenings as well as Saturdays, along Kings Highway. However, the criers have expanded their efforts to open public events, march in the Fourth of July Parade here in Haddonfield and open some commissioners meetings. They have also opened the ceremonies at the Camden County’s mayor’s dinner, taken part in the beer tastings at the Indian King Tavern. Perhaps, you have seen some of our existing criers in newspapers, or on TV.

If you are the type of person that is outgoing, with a strong voice and enjoy meeting and mingling with the public, you are encouraged to contact Bill Brown to set up audition times or have your questions answered. Bill can be reached at 856–429–4368.
