Bancroft hosting special ‘Dementia and Alzheimer’s’ lecture on May 6

Bancroft of Haddonfield, a leading provider of programs and support for children and adults with autism, acquired brain injuries, and varied intellectual and developmental disabilities, will present the latest installment in its biannual Clarence York Lecture Series, ‘Dementia and Alzheimer’s,’ on Tuesday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. All Haddonfield residents are welcome to attend.

The lecture will be held in the Rutgers–Camden Campus Center, in the multipurpose room. The Campus Center is located at 326 Penn Street, between Cooper and Peal streets in Camden.

Zaven Khachaturian, Ph.D., president of the Campaign to Prevent Alzheimer’s disease by 2020 Inc., will deliver the featured presentation, a review of the history of dementia and Alzheimer’s research in the United States during the last three decades. Khachaturian’s aim is to outline the magnitude and complexity of the public health problem from the economic, social, and psychological perspectives, as well as the scientific challenges that must be surmounted.

Khachaturian is also a senior science adviser to the Alzheimer’s Association, and the editor-in-chief of ‘Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association.’
