Evesham Police Department participated in inaugural town-funded Impaired Driving Initiative

On Friday night, April 4, officers from the Evesham Police Department participated in the inaugural town-funded Impaired Driving Initiative. Officers assigned to the saturation patrols stopped 48 motorists. Of these, 4 drivers were run through field sobriety testing, resulting in 2 drivers being arrested for DWI. Additionally, 3 adults were arrested for possession of narcotics.

The safety of our community is ETPD’s top priority, as all too often, innocent, law-abiding people suffer tragic consequences and the loss of loved ones due to the careless disregard for human life by Impaired Drivers. ETPD’s message is simple. If they find motorists driving impaired, they will be arrested, no exceptions.

The penalties for DWI in New Jersey can be severe. A conviction can affect drivers now and in the future. Penalties can affect drivers licenses, insurance rates and could even result in jail time.
