Tabernacle Township residents have opportunity to order additional recycling container at no cost

Effective this fall, single stream recycling will begin for towns in Burlington County that are currently enrolled in the program. Tabernacle Township residents are included in this program. Single stream recycling means that there will no longer be a need to separate bottles and cans from paper items. All the recycling will be collected in the blue 96-gallon containers that have been distributed to the homes in Tabernacle. The round buckets will no longer be used as the trucks picking up the recycling will be using an automated lift system on trucks. Residents are being asked to hold onto these round buckets temporarily until a decision is made on what to do with them.

Be advised, all containers are property of the township and must remain on the property assigned. If a container is removed and needs to be replaced, the resident will be required to purchase a new container.

Some residents may have concerns as to whether or not their container will be large enough to hold both the paper and other recyclable items. Residents are being given an opportunity to order a second container before this single stream recycling begins.

To place your order, please email recycle@co.burlington.nj.us and follow the directions for ordering a cart or call (609) 499–1001. Residents will have a choice of selecting either an additional 96-gallon container or a 64 or 48-gallon container. There is no extra cost for this container.

The deadline for ordering these additional containers is June 30
