Resident and student looking to raise money for service trip to Haiti

Jillian Palmere, a Voorhees Resident and graduate of Eastern Regional High School Class of 2011, is looking for donations to fund a service trip to Haiti, for her service group at Quinnipiac University.

A junior year of the nursing program at the university, Palmere has the opportunity to take an “alternative spring break,” in association with Restavec Freedom Alliance, a program run under the Bethesda Evangelical Mission Incorporated. Restavec is an organization dedicated to creating homes for restive children in Haiti.

“While in Haiti, I will have the opportunity of changing the lives of children who were once child slaves. I have been surrounded by love and support my whole life, and now is my opportunity to pass on my own love and support to the children and people of Haiti,” Palmere said.

Over the past several months, Palmere has raised a total of $600. To travel to Haiti at the end of March, Palmere needs to raise a total of $1,600.

“Any donation, big or small, will help bring me that much closer to reaching my goal and changing the lives of the incredible Haitian children,” Palmere said.

To contact Palmere or help her raise funds for her service trip, please email her at Jillian.Palmere@quinnipiac.edu.
