Adath Emanu-El wins community partner award

This year, Jewish Family and Childrens Service of Southern NJ is honored to present Congregation Adath Emanu-El with the 2014 Samost JFCS Community Partner Award.

This award recognizes an organization from Southern New Jersey that has collaborated with Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service. These key partnerships help JFCS realize the mission of support, outreach, and community service. They further strengthen the overall success of the agency’s core vision, initiatives, and program milestones to effect positive change for our neighbors in need. A community partnership is a powerful tool, and offers the strength of combined resources to achieve a common community goal of helping those who are less fortunate.

JFCS selected Adath Emanu-El to receive the award because of their ongoing support of our agency. They collect food and supplies, on an continuous basis, for clients of the JFCS Betsy and Peter Fischer Food Pantries.

Additionally, the Adath Emanu-El Sisterhood has been a dedicated advocate of the JFCS Project SARAH domestic abuse program and designated the program to receive proceeds from their fundraising.

The most recent program in which JFCS partnered with Adath Emanu-El in is called “Repairing the World: One Wednesday at a Time.” In the program, eighth & ninth grade Hebrew high students learn and experience social justice by study and action. With the help of JFCS staff and volunteers, students are offered the opportunity to live this value by taking part in the community-base work in which JFCS provides.

The staff and board of JFCS congratulate Congregation Adath Emanu-El on this well-deserved distinction, and offer their sincere gratitude.
