Bancroft presents Union League of Philadelphia with historic book

Bancroft, a leading provider of programs and supports for children and adults with autism, acquired brain injuries, and varied intellectual or developmental disabilities, has been part of Philadelphia-area history since 1883, but the Haddonfield-based nonprofit also has plenty of 19th century lore to share beyond its own.

Recently, an extremely rare, signed, first-edition copy of “Gettysburg” by John B. Bachelder, was discovered in the basement of Bancroft’s Lulworth House in Haddonfield. Toni Pergolin, president and CEO of Bancroft and Union League of Philadelphia member, presented the book to the Union League in a recent meeting.
