From Jan. 27 to 31, Rabbi Moshe Druin, a sofer (which is a Jewish scribe who can transcribe and repair Torah scrolls) will be at Adath Emanu-El repairing our 300-year-old Torah. The repairs to the Torah will make it kosher again by fixing letters, words and sections of text. Rabbi Druin will also make repairs to the parchment.
People will be able to see him work, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, each day at 11 a.m.- to 12 noon and 7 to 8Â p.m.
Our 300-year-old Torah, which was originally from Czechoslovakia, was written before our country was founded. This is a rare opportunity for the public to see a Torah up close and watch its repair. Please feel free to contact the synagogue office at (856) 608–1200 for more information.
