It has been an overwhelming six months since the premature passing of my husband, Keith Schwab. However, through our grief and profound sadness, we have been surrounded and cared for by an unbelievably generous community of people who continue to amaze me.
There are no words to express how thankful we are for the kindness you have shown each one of us and for the various ways you have honored Keith. I couldn’t possibly mention all the people and various acts of love during this time, but each has been heart warming. Your beautiful letters, the field of colorful soccer balls brightening a tragic day, the continuous flow of delicious meals and treats, the encouraging calls and texts, the chainsaw- wielding crew who immediately took care of a fallen tree, those who made calls and generally took care of lots of stuff, the visits, the rides, the diversions, the prayers and the hugs have kept us going and given us reasons to smile.
This past summer, a courageous committee of friends and family worked tirelessly to pull together a fantastic day of soccer and family fun to honor Keith at the “Keith Schwab Kick-Off Classic.” I am forever grateful to the committee, the volunteers, the sponsors, the 42 teams, the players and families, and all those who contributed for a perfect day and touching tribute.
Thank you all. We appreciate everything you have done and are thankful for this beautiful community.
