On Oct. 8, detectives with the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit and the Troop C Criminal Investigation Office began an investigation into the death of Armstrong, whose body was found in the woods along Route 206 in Tabernacle. Armstrong’s body was discovered by a surveying crew shortly after 8 a.m. She was found a few yards into the trees at the side of the rural highway. On Saturday, Oct. 12, the man was placed under arrest by State Police detectives. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office authorized charges of murder and felony murder kidnapping.
