The Evergreens helps “Strike Out Breast Cancer!” with bowling fundraiser

On Sunday, Oct. 6, The Evergreens in Moorestown will be holding a bowling fundraiser at Pinsetters Bar & Bowl in Merchantville, located at 7111 Maple Avenue, from 5 to 8 p.m. Open to the public, the cost is $25 per person and includes three hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental and a food buffet (food is served from 5–7 p.m.). Registration is required in advance of the event.

All proceeds from the event will be going towards “Ross’ Racers” involvement in the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk happening on Oct. 27 in Pennsauken, NJ. Each year, a group of staff members, family and friends team up to walk as “Ross’ Racers” in honor of the late Mary Ellen Ross — former Vice President of Health Services at The Evergreens who lost her courageous battle with breast cancer in August 2008. The “Ross’ Racers” team is aiming to raise $7,500 this year.

“Mary Ellen was an inspiration to us all,” said Doug Halvorsen, President and CEO at The Evergreens. “We look to the strength and determination she exhibited as a standard by which we deliver care to our residents today. It’s through Ross’ Racers that we here in the community are continuing her fight.”

Interested participants must contact Nicole Albrecht of The Evergreens no later than Oct. 4 in order to purchase tickets. Nicole can be reached at 856–439–2090 or nalbrecht@evergreens.org — you will need to provide her with your name, number of bowlers and payment information if interested. The Evergreens will accept cash or checks for this event. Checks can be made payable to “The Evergreens.”
