The Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor preschool ballet and creative ballet from Sept. 21 to Nov. 9.
Preschool ballet.
For children ages 3 and 4, the preschool ballet program is on Saturdays from Sept. 21, to Nov. 9, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Church Street Recreation Center.
Fundamentals will include basic technique such as positions, carriage, rhythm, musicality, coordination, opposites and expressions. Education activities and theme-based curriculum are used to incorporate a strong foundation and desire to learn.
Recommended dress includes black or solid colored leotard, ballet pink or caramel capezio tights, pink split-sole canvas/skirt (optional) and leather ballet slippers.
Hair should be in a ponytail or bun.
Creative ballet
The Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor creative ballet for children ages 5 and 6 on Saturdays from Sept. 21, to Nov. 9, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church Street Recreation Center
This 45-minute class consists of a variety of ballet techniques, terminology, movement, partnership, skills and many more fun activities. Since the children are still at a beginning stage, they will learn while using simple songs, routines and sometimes props.
Hair should be in a ponytail or bun.
Recommended is pink or black leotard, pink or white tights, chiffon skirt (optional), any hair accessories (optional), and pink ballet split-sole shoes.
Fees
Fee for both courses are $75 for Moorestown resident children, and $95 for nonresident children.

Chelsea Gross, who has been dancing for more than 15 years, will instruct all classes. She attended East Coast Dance Center in Delran and continued her dancing experience by taking classes at the University of Delaware. Gross has taken classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and pointe and has experience in musical theater.
