County Freeholders announce reduced adoption fees

The Burlington County Freeholders are pleased to announce that the “Cat and Dog Days of Summer” adopt-a-pet program has returned to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, with reduced adoption fees for dogs and cats.

Effective until Aug. 31, the reduced adoption fee for dogs will be $40, as opposed to the regular charge of $75 for dogs. Cat adoption fees have been reduced from $45 to $20.

The shelter provides spayed or neutered animals for adoption in hopes of controlling the county’s animal population.

The County Animal Shelter is located on Academy Drive off of Woodlane Road, behind the Burlington County Library in Westampton Township. Hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays; noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays.
