Mosquito Commission postpones tonight’s spraying

The Camden County Mosquito Commission has postponed the spraying originally scheduled for this evening due to the inclement weather. The spraying that was to be conducted in Lindenwold, Oaklyn, Haddonfield and Pennsauken will be rescheduled on a later date.

“The Camden County Mosquito Commission encourages residents to continue to safeguard against the pests by eliminating standing water in your yards. This has been even more important this summer due to the high rainfall amounts our region has experienced,” said Freeholder Jeff Nash, liaison to the Camden County Mosquito Commission. “While the chance of becoming ill from a mosquito is relatively small, you can do your part to protect yourself and your family.”

The Camden County Mosquito Commission regularly checks several thousand suspected mosquito breeding sites across the county. Mosquito spraying is scheduled on an as needed basis based upon the results of their surveillance efforts. The mosquito spray is not harmful to humans or pets, but you should avoid direct contact if you have respiratory concerns or are sensitive to irritants.
