POLICE: officers respond to gunfire

On July 12 at 12:08 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Tearose Lane for the report of shots fired from inside the residence by the homeowner.

Responding police units closed neighborhood streets and patrol officers, as well as members of the Tactical Response Team and rifle team, surrounded the residence.

Contact was made with the homeowner and after brief negotiations, the resident exited his house and was immediately placed under arrest without further incident.

His wife then exited and was escorted from the scene by police.

Subsequent investigation at the scene revealed a cache of weapons, including rifles, pistols, black powder weapons and numerous other edged weapons.

There were also several bullet holes discovered through various walls and rooms in the house.

The homeowner was charged with numerous weapons offenses, was processed and remanded to the Camden County Jail in lieu of $27,500 bail.
