Residents among finalists in county Logo Contest

Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly awarded the winner of the county Logo Contest recently with a certificate and a $250 gift card first place prize sponsored by the Moorestown Mall.

The winner, Emily Amey a high school senior from Burlington Township, joined Donnelly at the board’s first “road show” public meeting in the Burlington Township Municipal Building.

The finalists and semi-finalists of the logo contest were announced at a ceremony on June 7 hosted by the Moorestown Mall.
All of the logos were displayed at the mall for the entire weekend.

The finalists and semi-finalist were starred in the display.

To participate in the logo contest, Burlington County high school students were asked to submit original designs for a new county logo built upon the tagline: “South Jersey Starts Here.”

“The talent, effort, and creativity that went into each submission was truly impressive,” Donnelly said, “It was great to see that level of engagement between young people and their county government.”

Almost 200 hundred logo designs were submitted to the contest from students all over Burlington County. Logos were judged for originality, creativity, relevance to the county and connection with the tagline.

The students chosen as semi-finalists in the contest were:
Aaron Stadler, Grade 12; Bryce Kelly, Grade 12; Courtney Norton, Grade 11; and Alex McKeen, Grade 9, of Lenape, Alyssa Gilboy, Grade 12; Danielle Farino, Grade 12; Lexy Garaguso, Grade 9; Mario LaMorte, Grade 9; Victoria Wanagosit, Grade 12; and Byran Ingham, Grade 12, of Cherokee and Eternity Riley, Grade 10, of BCIT Westampton.

The students chosen as finalists in the contest, and awarded $25 gift cards, were:
Alexis Beaton, Grade 9, and Kayla Torres, Grade 9, of BCIT Westampton, Dillon Steltz, Grade 11, and Tyler Obiedzinski, Grade 12, of Seneca, Jared Hamlin, Grade 11, and Sean Heisler, Grade 9, of Delran, Katie Militello, Grade 10, of Shawnee, Raymond Lucia, Grade 11, of Burlington Township and Jared Vandergrift, Grade 9, of Cherokee.
