Primary results set stage for November election

More than 10,000 voters in 46 of the 48 districts turned out for the primary elections to vote for Cherry Hill Township Council members, in addition to county and state candidates. Results were not available in two districts.

Current Democratic council members drew 5,449 votes, 1,401 of which went to council president David Fleisher, 1,339 to newcomer Carole Roskoph, 1,347 to Susan Shin Angulo and 1,335 to James Bannar, election results indicated.

Additionally, four Republican candidates will be campaigning for a position on the council.

Candidate Nancy O’Dowd received 1,299 votes, John R. Gallie received 1,260, Dan Loveland received 1,255, and Stephen R. Cohen received 1,268.

All eight candidates will appear on the November ballot, since there are four seats on the ballot. The primaries were uncontested within each party.

Incumbent Republican Gov. Christie will be facing Democratic candidate Barbara Buono.

General elections are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
